Itinerary

Begin your 5-day adventure with an early pickup from your accommodation or the airport in Fes. Weโ€™ll drive south through Imouzzer to explore Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco for its alpine-style houses and cool climate. Next, we visit the cedar forest, home to the Barbary Macaques, where you can enjoy feeding them as you explore the forest.

Afterward, we’ll continue to Midelt for lunch before heading toward the Sahara Desert. Our route takes us through the scenic Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and alongside the Ziz River.

In the afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Here, youโ€™ll mount camels for a journey across the sandy dunes. Weโ€™ll pause to take in the stunning sunset from atop a high dune before proceeding to our luxurious desert camp. Enjoy an evening of Berber drum music and dance around the campfire under a star-studded sky. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.

Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise in the heart of the desert. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before returning on camels to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting.

Today is dedicated to exploring the diverse landscapes of Merzouga. Begin with an off-road journey to visit an ancient eyeliner mine. Then, experience the traditional nomadic lifestyle with a visit to a local nomadโ€™s handmade woven tent, where youโ€™ll learn about their way of life while sipping Berber tea.

Next, head to Khamlia village to enjoy vibrant Gnaoua music and dance performances. The villagers, originally from Mali, Sudan, and Niger, offer a unique cultural experience.

After a restaurant lunch, take a relaxing stroll through a palm tree grove before driving a short distance to see the Wild Lake of Merzouga, also known as Flamingos Lake.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel in Merzouga.

After breakfast, depart from the desert to explore Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains a significant trading hub with a bustling souk that comes alive on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Following your visit to Rissani Souk, proceed to Erfoud, where youโ€™ll tour a workshop specializing in fossilized marble. Continue through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges. The Todra River has carved out a dramatic canyon with towering red cliffs, making it a prime spot for rock climbing. Enjoy free time to explore the gorges and admire the stunning landscape.

Lunch will be at a local restaurant before continuing to the Dades Valley. En route, make essential stops at the โ€œMonkey Fingersโ€ rock formations and a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Dades Valley.

Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at a hotel in the Dades Valley.

After breakfast, we head to Kalaa Magouna to explore the Rose Valley, renowned for its annual Rose Festival in May. Here, you can discover a range of rose products, including perfumes, rose water, oil, and cosmetics.

Enjoy some free time for lunch before we continue through the palm groves of Skoura. Visit the historic Kasbah of Amridil, known for its traditional architecture and cultural significance.

Our journey then takes us to Ouarzazate, where weโ€™ll tour the famous film studios that have been the backdrop for numerous movies. Weโ€™ll also visit the impressive Taourirt Kasbah.

Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at a hotel in Ouarzazate.

On the final day, we set out to visit the renowned Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This iconic Kasbah has featured in many films, including Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as TV series such as Game of Thrones.

We then proceed to Marrakech, driving through the picturesque Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the stunning High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, weโ€™ll make stops for lunch and to capture the breathtaking scenery with photos.
