Tour Overview
Experience an unforgettable 4 day, 3 night journey through Morocco’s stunning landscapes. Your adventure begins in Fes. First, we explore the "Switzerland of Morocco," Ifrane, and the scenic cedar forests. We’ll stop in Midelt for lunch before continuing along the breathtaking Ziz River. Next, we visit the impressive Dades and Todra Gorges. From there, we head to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga, where you’ll have the chance to ride camels, spend a night in a desert camp, and witness the magical sunset and sunrise over the dunes. Enjoy a 4×4 exploration of the Sahara Desert. Our journey also includes visits to the traditional market in Rissani and the fossil town of Erfoud. Finally, we return to Fes to conclude the tour.
Itinerary
The 4 day Sahara Desert tour from Fes begins with an early pick-up from your airport or accommodation. We drive south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, renowned for its alpine-style houses and cool climate, earning it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” Next, we explore the cedar forests, home to the Barbary Macaques, where you can feed them as you stroll through the woods.
Our journey continues to Midelt for lunch, then we proceed to Errachidia, traveling through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and alongside the Ziz River. Upon reaching Errachidia, we head towards the Dades Gorges via Boumalne Dades, with notable stops at the “Monkey Fingers” rock formation and a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Dades Valley. We conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel.
After breakfast, we set off for Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved a dramatic canyon with towering red cliffs. Take your time to wander through the gorges and marvel at the stunning scenery. From there, we continue our journey through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, with free time for lunch along the way.
In the afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Here, you’ll switch to camels for a ride across the sandy dunes. We will pause to watch the breathtaking sunset from the top of a high dune. Next, we head to a luxury desert camp where you can immerse yourself in the local culture with Berber drum music and dance around the campfire under a star-filled sky. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in the camp.
