The 3 day desert tour to Marrakech begins with an early pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Fes. We head south through Imouzzer, stopping at Ifrane, renowned for its cool climate, snow, and alpine-style houses—earning it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” Next, we visit the cedar forest, home to the Barbary Macaques, where you can enjoy feeding them as you wander through the trees. Afterward, we continue to Midelt for lunch. The journey then takes us through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the picturesque Ziz River as we make our way to the Merzouga Sahara desert.

Upon arrival in Merzouga, you’ll switch to camels for a trek across the desert sands, with a stop atop a towering dune to take in the stunning sunset. We’ll then proceed to the desert camp, where you’ll experience the rhythm of Berber drums and dance around the campfire under the vast, starry sky. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

Wake up early to witness the beautiful sunrise in the heart of the desert. After some free time for breakfast, you’ll ride camels back to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting. From here, we leave the desert and head to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains a significant trading hub, with its vibrant souk bustling on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

After exploring the lively souk, we continue to Erfoud to visit a workshop specializing in fossilized marble. The journey then takes us through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad until we reach the majestic Todra Gorges. The Todra River has carved out a towering red cliff-sided canyon, making it a haven for rock climbers and nature lovers. You’ll have time to wander through the gorge and take in the awe-inspiring landscape. After a leisurely lunch in a local restaurant, we head towards the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades. Along the way, we’ll stop to admire the unique “monkey fingers” rock formation and enjoy panoramic views from a mountaintop overlooking the Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight will be at a hotel.
